I am a nursing student at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA. Currently, I am on track to graduate with a BSN in May 2021.
I became interested in nursing when my neighbor let me shadow him in an Intensive Care Unit at Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children. Seeing how all of the nurses interacted with more than just the patient inspired me. I saw a cohesive team working on the patient's care and knew I wanted to be apart of that team. Not only that, but the nurse had the responsibility to deliver information to the patients family, which goes beyond just knowing how to do a job. At JMU I am also involved in the ROTC program and will commission into the United States Army upon my graduation. This involvement was heavily fostered by my grandfather and father being in the military. Helping the families of soldiers while they are away is something I feel passionate about, knowing the sacrifices that soldier and their families go through. I want soldiers to know that their families will be taken care of in their absence. |
